Environments where everyone can thrive
HARTS exists to support the health, wellbeing and participation of neurodivergent people, by empowering individuals and shaping environments that support sustainable success.
HARTS works at the intersection of universal design, health and technology to create accessible environments where everyone can thrive.
Three ways to work with HARTS
Courses
Accessible, inclusive courses designed in line with UDL, plus practical technology for learning.
- Designed around Universal Design for Learning (UDL)
- Slides, videos and Notion templates included
- Practical strategies you can use right away

Lectures
Motivating, educational talks on neurodiversity, accessibility and inclusive education.
- For students: diversity is a strength
- For teachers and education professionals
- Talks at national and international conferences

School for All
An end-to-end education project that strengthens connection, accessibility and student wellbeing through practical technology.
- Implemented across all Hafnarfjörður primary schools
- Strengthens connection, accessibility and wellbeing
- Built for neurodivergent students, benefits everyone

Belonging is the foundation of learning
- Students show up, take part and dare to try
- Cognitive load drops and energy goes to learning
- Teachers see each student's strengths
- Students withdraw and avoid tasks
- Energy goes to masking and keeping up
- Behaviour is misread as a lack of interest
Where HARTS has been involved
School for All is implemented across Hafnarfjörður's primary schools. Jóhanna studied at the University of Florida and has spoken at conferences including CANVASCON Europe.
